I would not do smart lipo again!!!

Smart Lipo: Was not worth it
Cost: $11,000
Pain: Mild
Satisfaction: Poor

I wanted to get the one to two dress size reduction I so often heard in advertisements. I had my chin, my back, my abdomen, my thighs (inner and outer) and knees. I just really wanted to look better especially in my stomach. I am overweight about 15 pounds.
The procedure was fine and the staff were all very nice. The first day after the procedure was painful, but it was not bad overall.
The result was not worth the money. I am so angry at myself for spending so much money. I have since been to a board certified plastic surgeon and have found out I could have had a tummy tuck, liposuction, and liposuction on thighs inner and outer for 10,500.00. I should have gone this route first. I am still paying back the loan I took for the smart lipo and am trying to convince my husband to let me get another loan to do what I should have done to begin with. I know he wants to kill me :)
The only part that was worth it was my chin. My chin had a small fat pad and it looks a ton better.
I should have not done this, it was not worth it. I would have done the chin again, but I don’t think it is for a large area. My advice is to consult more than one board certified plastic surgeon and don’t try to take the short cut. Go with the major surgery.

Love my flat stomach so far!

Smart Lipo: Was worth it
Cost: $4,000
Pain: Uncomfortable
Satisfaction: Excellent

I had laser lipo done on Monday, September 22, 2008.I am 5′, 118. I have had a muffin top or roll every since I was young. After two kids, I wanted a flat stomch. One day later, my results are wonderful. I had my abdomen and flanks done. My banana roll is finally gone.
Today, I am somewhat sore and bruised. However, it is tolerable. I have been nauseous due to the Adavan. The most uncomfortable part has been wearing the compression garment. I stopped draining after about 12 hours.

Smartlipo is amazing!

Smart Lipo: Was worth it
Cost: $9,000
Pain: Mild
Satisfaction: Excellent

I had been struggling with weight loss all of my life. I have been able to loose the weight from all areas of my body except for my abdomen and love handles. I had what you would call a "muffin top".
Aftere doing research I chose SmartLipo because of the suggested benefits that it causes less bruising, skin tightening and is less painful on the areas it is performed on.
The doctor I saw said that he was doing his own research to see if Vaser and liposuction gave different results than Smartlipo and liposuction. (I got a discount doing so). He performed Smartlipo and Lipo on my stomach, and Vaser and Lipo on my love handles.
I am almost one week out from my procedure and have been able to tell a considerable difference between the SmartLipo/liposuctioned areas and the Vaser/liposuctioned areas. I feel MUCH tighter and flatter in the areas that where SmartLipo was used and have almost no bruising and swelling versus the traditional and Vaser Lipo that has left parts of my body a nice shade of purple and black. I would recommend anyone considering doing liposuction to find a surgeon who has this machine!! There is NO reason to have a harder recovery and so-so results when there are machines like SmartLipo out there that make this much of a difference!!

Looks different

Smart Lipo: Was worth it
Cost: $7,500
Pain: Severe
Satisfaction: Good

Had smart lipo done 10 days ago on my abs and sides. 1 litre of fat was removed. My stomach looks different and somewhat flatter, but since I had it done Ive put on 2 kg and my measurements havent changed. Still early days I guess so hopefully within a few weeks I will see an improvement.
Having said that after my smart lipo in NY in april this year (same areas were done, but only 400 cc of fat removed) the results that were there 4 weeks after the treatment never improved despite the doctor telling me to wait 6 months. I was left with a lump on my lower abs but overall lost about half an inch around my waist which was not satisfactory.
So 5.5 months down the line, I decided to have my stomach redone! with a different doctor in London this time. Fingers crossed it works this time as I cant face going thru the procedure again as it was TOO BAD I even went into shock, too painful.

So far so good

Smart Lipo: Was worth it
Cost: $5,500
Pain: Uncomfortable
Satisfaction: Very good

I had smart lipo done on my outer thighs, hips, and partial flanks. I am 24 F 5’8 136lbs these areas were just driving me crazy and decided to give it a try. It has been 5 days and am still tender but I actually went back to work the following day and it was a bit uncomfortable but do-ible and I move around I don’t have a sit down job. I feel like I already see a difference in my hips and flanks but not so much in my thighs yet :( But I know it takes up to 6 months.. I am soooo excited for the final results!!!

Perfection!!!

Smart Lipo: Was worth it
Cost: $2,500
Pain: Uncomfortable
Satisfaction: Very good

I had smartlipo on Tuesday, it is now Saturday. I had my whole knee area done. The inner part and about 3 inches above the knee. For some reason, my body stores fat in that area only. Not to brag on myself, but I was blessed with great genetics and have what most people consider "The perfect body." I have been a swimsuit model for many years and was also in Playboy. I have an obsession with trying to stay perfect. At age 33, it is hard. Before I decided to do smartlipo, I dieted and worked out like a maniac to try and loose the fat that was around my knee area. I got ZERO results. A six pack, and everything else was great, but that area would not budge. I never, ever thought I would get lipo, but fat knees are not cool. So, decided to go for it. It has only been 5 days. So far, it seems to look good, but I am still very bruised, swollen and tight. I read the reviews about recovery time and I agree with everyone about how misleading the company, websites, TV, and doctors are being. I am on day 5 and if I had to go to work, it would be tuff. Esp. if you didn’t want anyone to know. If you just sit at a desk and don’t have to move at all, it may be possible. But you would be very uncomfortable. Wearing these compression garments are the WORST! They are so uncomfortable. The actual surgery wasn’t bad, but the lidocaine injections hurt pretty bad. There were a few times during my procedure wear I could feel some pain and what they were doing…freaky!, and I had to keep telling them to inject more numbing solution. That kinda pissed me off a bit. You are not suppose to feel anything! Pain pills are necessary afterwards for several days. I only had my knee area done, I couldn’t imagine stomach or back areas. OOch! I can’t wait to see the final results. I will be back to my 20 year old body! I will leave another review in two weeks!
Updated on Sep 8, 2008:
Tomorrow will be day 8. I am still bruised and uncomfortable. I can only bend my knees a little more than half way because the skin is so tight. It is also a bit hard. Still a bit numb. It is looking good, better every day. I have my follow up appointment tomorrow. I will leave another review in a few days. Recovery is taking longer than expected. At least it is looking good even though I am far from healed.
